If Beauty be Claimed - A Poem

It is the snowflake
Melting on skin,
Once grasped,
Fish caught by hand,
It cuts you deep,
Naturally dissolving
From one thing
To one million,
Frightened by touch,
Swarming away
To deeper, hidden currents,
Or sublimating
Into finer airs,
Floating away
Regardless the wind,

Fine nude
Reclining on a couch
But a frozen replica
Of something finer
Only hinted,
In the blush of her face

In the rush remember - A Poem

In the rush remember,
Quiet precedes gods,
Stillness in traveling,
Reposed in natural motion,
Hints softly,
The earth is moving.

May I Tell You Something Small - A Poem

May I tell you something small,
A thing that doesn’t seem much,
It is a whisper if spoken,
Silent, really, as the gaps in words,

There was a moon glistening
Behind your hair strewn shoulder
When lightening blue struck,
One moment in the aperture
Of mistaken and bygone years.

I walk quietly - an original poem

I walk quietly
When darkness encroaches
To ward off the rebound of words
That always comes in these times

Attempting the subtle,
I delve into the depths
When the currents begin their rushing
That carried by deeper waters,
I might move without inhibition

Yes, Subtlety,
The birthright I sold
For the entertainments I offered,
Please come….

It was Foretold - an original poem

It was foretold
You, my son,
When in Summer
I ran, unconscious
Of anything, but moving…

When in the boil of my blood
Youth-rapt and entranced,
I stumbled through the torn night
Fevered by the street lamp glow
Train wrecked while sleeping…

That you would be a son
Was born in my bones
When in the ocean’s depths
I lay floating, alive,
In her deep currents…

And under she,
The star of her stillness,
She blessed me in time…

When you were born,
The laughing joke
You were a boy,
And now, trembling
Toward manhood,
Tender still, and strong,
You run, blood boiling
To who knows where..

The Nadir Beckons - An original poem

The nadir beckons
The moon, waxing,
Yet crescent,
A sun gone
To Capricorn’s Tropic,
What but a full,
A daydreamed light,
Disembodied, flowing,
From no source,
Lighting everything
It touches
Can save the dire earth
From swallowing itself?
