'Make it stronger' - A Father's Day Weekend Poem

Make it stronger

He didn’t hold my hand,
We would walk through roads,
He left me, though guiding,
To take my own steps,

More truthful than most,
Not promising a lack of nightmares,
‘there’s always a bright side’
Lesson learned from his actions, his words,

Surprised by pleasant dreams,
In them I held his hand, through the worst,

‘Without the dark, there would be no light…’
